Online gift card marketplace Zeek has confirmed it’s looking for a buyer, as some users complain they haven’t received payments for gift cards they’ve sold – with some claiming to be hundreds of pounds out of pocket.
Zeek Mobile Ltd – which is headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, but also operates in the UK – lets users buy and sell gift cards on its website, meaning sellers can often recoup some money from unwanted gift cards and buyers can get discounts.
But over the past couple of days some users have reported that they’re still waiting for payments to be sent for gift cards they’ve sold, or are unable to access credit they hold on their accounts.
And now Zeek says it’s “temporarily paused” transactions while it works with its creditor to secure a buyer for the business – although its website is still working. This means that existing transactions will be delayed, and customers are currently unable to make any new transactions.
We have previously included Zeek in our online shopping guides, but have removed it until the situation is resolved.

— Buster (@BusterCBrown) February 6, 2019 What does Zeek say? A Zeek spokesperson said: “Zeek Mobile Ltd (an Israeli business) is currently working through a process with its major creditor Viola, part of this process will be to secure a buyer for the business short term. Transactions on the Marketplace and shop have been temporarily paused while we resolve this issue over the coming days.
“We greatly appreciate the support of our consumers during the necessary changes we are making to the business ownership structure.”
