American removed the Boeing 737 Max from its schedule until Nov. The airline previously expected to reintroduce the plane to its schedule in September. Airlines have canceled thousands of flights since the planes were grounded in March after two fatal crashes. Boeing developed a software fix for the planes after an anti-stall system on board was implicated in both crashes. American said the removal of the planes from its schedule through Nov. 2 would lead to approximately 115 flights canceled flights a day. American has 24 Boeing 737 Max planes in its fleet of more than 900 aircraft and has another 76 on order.
